Shop Front Award Dorchester!

For those of you who are not on Facebook I thought I would just share this exciting bit of news from Discover Dorchester, Dorchester Bid & Dorchester Town Council. (You also get to see Tori!)

”Congratulations to Fudge's Wool & Haberdashery in Durngate Street, which has won the summer 2026 round of the Shopfront of the Season awards. The scheme is organised by Dorchester Town Council and the Dorchester BID with the shortlisted candidates judged by the Mayor, Cllr Les Fry, and BID Chair, Neil Strudwick.
 
Tori Weston, owner of Fudges, said: “I absolutely adore being in our little shop and I have the best customers, who are always supportive and lots have told me that they have nominated us for the competition, I am really touched they have taken the time to do it. My Husband has been roped into helping me with the window, all the rain through January and this dry weather has taken its toll, so this competition came at just the right time to get it looking a little fresher, we have had some nice Sundays together cleaning and painting!”
 
The Mayor, Cllr Les Fry, said: “It was a pleasure to present the certificates following the recent round of shop front awards.  Fudges Wool Shop in Durngate Street was a very worthy winner, a well-presented shop front exterior with an intricate woollen knitted window display.  Some very nicely presented shop fronts were shortlisted and if your favourite shop was not among these then please take part in the next round of the scheme as they could win £500”

Neil Strudwick, BID Chair said: “As Dorchester BID Chairman, this joint project between ourselves and the Town Council I feel has been a huge success. It has shown that Dorchester has some wonderful successful businesses both established and new that take pride in themselves and the town.”

The runners-up were Great Western Camping, The Crafty Cuppa, Mid Dorset Mencap  and the Brewery Square Concierge Office.”
